Opuntia Monacantha

The plant develops fresh green pads with small areoles that may produce fine glochids and occasional longer spines. As it matures, it can form a tall, shrub-like structure, making it suitable as a statement cactus for outdoor spaces or a compact feature plant when grown in a pot.

Opuntia Monacantha grows best in strong light and can tolerate direct sunlight once properly acclimatised. A sunny balcony, rooftop, patio or garden position is ideal. Indoor plants should be placed close to the brightest available window to prevent weak, stretched growth.
